Reducing our environmental impact

Addressing climate change and improving the environmental performance of our products throughout their life cycle.
OUR APPROACH

From our operations to our products

We work to reduce the environmental footprint of our operations and the equipment we provide. Our priorities include controlling energy use, lowering product power consumption, conserving resources and improving waste management.

We also engage customers, suppliers, partners and financial institutions on climate and circularity, and raise employee awareness of environmental practices. These efforts support the objectives of the Paris Agreement and help customers address their own environmental challenges.

CLIMATE CHANGE

Measuring emissions and planning reduction

  • An annual emissions assessment
We measure and disclose greenhouse gas emissions each year using the GHG Protocol, covering direct emissions from our operations (Scope 1), emissions from purchased electricity (Scope 2), and emissions across our value chain (Scope 3). Our emissions reduction trajectory addresses both 2030 and 2050, with progress measured annually.
  • Science-based targets and a climate transition plan
We have committed to submitting our emissions reduction targets to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for validation before May 31, 2027, while assessing the implications of the recent SBTi standard update. In parallel, we are developing a climate transition plan using the ACT methodology, jointly developed by CDP and ADEME, to identify the actions needed to meet our targets.
ENVIRONMENTAL TARGETS

Our environmental targets

  • SDG
    Target
  • SDG 13
Have the 2030 GHG reduction pathway approved by the SBTi by the end of May 2027.
  • SDG 13
Define a climate transition plan for mitigation and adaptation by the end of 2026.
  • SDG 7
Use 100% renewable electricity at all Group sites in the European Union by the end of 2026.
  • SDG 7Obtain ISO 50001 certification for the same scope as ISO 9001 by the end of 2030.
Obtain ISO 50001 certification for the same scope as ISO 9001 by the end of 2030.
  • SDG 12
Extend hardware repairability for OneAccess products after their end-of-sale date from three years in 2024 to five years by the end of 2030. Excludes products manufactured by third parties.
  • SDG 9
Reduce the average annual electricity consumption of new products sold during the year.
These targets are part of the 14 targets defined across our 7 sustainability priorities. SDG = United Nations Sustainable Development Goal

POLLUTION WATER AND BIODIVERSITY

Protecting resources and ecosystems

Pollution prevention

We seek to prevent, reduce and eliminate pollutants generated by our activities and value chain. Our commitments include compliance with applicable substance requirements under RoHS, WEEE and REACH, and extending pollution-control expectations to key suppliers through contracts and our Supplier Code of Conduct.

We are committed to responsible water management in manufacturing and our supply chain. Where applicable and feasible, we monitor consumption, wastewater generation and withdrawal sources at industrial sites. We require suppliers to assess water consumption and implement control measures across their operations.

We aim to prevent negative impacts on nature from our operations. Where suppliers have a direct impact on, or dependency on, biodiversity and ecosystems, we expect them to put plans in place to minimize it.
