Move more data, further, without waiting on new fiber

From Edge/Access networks to submarine links and data center interconnects, one optical portfolio built for capacity and reliability.
THE CHALLENGE

Built for networks where every microsecond and every watt counts

Traffic keeps growing faster than most fiber budgets. Whether you’re connecting data centers a few kilometers apart, extending a metro network to the edge, or upgrading a submarine cable system nearing its capacity limit, digging new fiber is rarely the fastest or cheapest way to keep up. Our optical networking solutions add capacity to the infrastructure you already have, from lighting new wavelengths over third-party lines to extending reach across long-haul and subsea routes, while keeping latency and power consumption under control. Whether you’re an operator scaling a national backbone or an enterprise interconnecting two data centers, the same portfolio adapts to your distance, capacity, and environment.

FAQ

Find your answer to common questions on our Optical Networking Solutions.

They’re built for different distances and environments rather than being interchangeable. Metro Regional Networking and Optical Edge Connectivity cover shorter, high-density links close to your users; Datacenter Interconnection and Long-Haul Networking carry higher capacity across longer distances between sites; Submarine/Subsea Overlay and Alien Wavelength extend or add capacity to existing cable systems and third-party infrastructure; and Hardened Solutions and Single-Fiber Bi-Directional Transmission address specific deployment constraints. Most networks combine two or three of these depending on their topology.

Optical Networking Solutions covers the physical transport layer connecting your sites, data centers, or network core. If you also need to connect and manage traffic at individual branches or offices, such as SD-WAN or Ethernet access, that’s covered by our Enterprise Networking Solutions. If you need to secure users, traffic, or remote access, that’s covered by our Cybersecurity Solutions. Many operators and large enterprises combine Optical Networking with Enterprise Networking, since the two typically sit on the same physical infrastructure.
