A branch network is rarely built once and left alone: new sites get added, phone lines get retired, bandwidth needs grow, and new SD-WAN or virtualization capabilities get requested faster than hardware refresh cycles allow. Each of those changes traditionally lands on a different box, often with its own operating system and its own admin console to learn. Ekinops’s enterprise networking range removes that fragmentation: every device, from Ethernet demarcation units to multi-service routers, and virtualization platforms, runs the same open operating system, with new capabilities available through OneOS Built-in Services as your needs evolve.
They cover different layers of your branch network rather than being interchangeable. Ethernet Access Devices handle the physical handoff and Layer 2 demarcation of a Carrier Ethernet circuit. Multi-service Access Routers add IP routing and, where needed, voice functions to migrate a PBX off legacy phone lines. SD-WAN manages multiple WAN links intelligently across that routing layer. Virtualization & Containerization consolidates several of these functions, plus third-party software, onto a single open server instead of separate boxes. OneOS Built-in Services is the licensing mechanism that lets you activate new capabilities on this hardware remotely, rather than a separate product to choose.
Enterprise Networking covers connecting and routing traffic at your branch offices and headquarters. If you also need to secure users, traffic, or remote access, that’s covered by our Cybersecurity products, several of which, including SD-WAN, are also part of a converged SASE architecture. If you’re interconnecting data centers over high-capacity optical links, that’s covered by our Optical Networking products. Many customers combine Enterprise Networking with Cybersecurity, since security policy and SD-WAN often run on the same device.
Yes. You don’t need to deploy the full range at once, or in a fixed order. A typical rollout might start with Ethernet Access Devices for demarcation at existing sites, then add SD-WAN or virtualization capability at sites that need it later, without redesigning what’s already in place.
Voice and PBX migration capabilities are available on our L3 voice and data Multi-service Access router not across the entire range. If voice migration isn’t a requirement, our other routing and demarcation products cover data connectivity without that added capability.
