Scale-across capacity for all DCI applications

Whether you’re interconnecting inference sites or backhauling data to and between learning sites, Ekinops has your solution.
THE CHALLENGE

Hyperscale performance for non-hyperscale operators

Of the thousands of datacenters out there, only a relative few are considered to be “hyperscale” locations. While those facilities are well served by the large systems vendors, the overall industry demand requires alternate solutions focused on the best cost-performance, ratio which is where Ekinops PTM300 excels. Whether you are a high-performance compute center (Neocloud provider), carrier-neutral colocation provider, or telco datacenter with multiple high-bandwidth IXC connections, Ekinops PTM delivers the capacity and scalability needed to serve your customers.

Ekinops offers more than one solution for datacenter connectivity. Our long heritage in serving Tier 2, Tier 3 and rural telcos gives us a deep understanding of the needs of these markets. Our C700HC hybrid datacenter platform is designed for these providers to make it easier for them to extend their telco network into the datacenter with a compatible product that allows them to deliver the wavelength and data connectivity services for datacenter interconnection and Cloud services. For pure datacenter operators, Ekinops also delivers the PTM300 Compact Modular system purpose-built for that environment with ultra-high service density and ultra-low power consumption.

The PTM300 uses pluggable coherent QSFP56-DD and QSFP112-DD optics for the line side capable of 800G line rates.

Yes. Management software for the PTM300 is based on the ONF standard OpenConfig software with YANG models and NETCONF interfaces and REST API at the northbound interface to share data with other IT Apps for inventory, topology, services and monitoring.

Both the C700HC and PTM300 are modular systems that allow easy replacement of blades or sleds with next-generation technology without having to replace the entire chassis, and without a license fee to unlock a higher line rate or activate ROADM ports.

The PTM300 brings power draw down to as little as 0.08W per Gbps, chassis, commons, and optics included, and the high-density chassis uses front-to-back airflow that matches standard hot-aisle/cold-aisle data center cooling, so integration doesn’t require a custom cooling design. Evolution to liquid cooling is possible as market demand dictates.

Built-in Layer-1 encryption uses AES-GCM 256, to encrypt traffic at the transport level with no added overhead or latency, protecting against physical interception on the fiber itself QKD and PQC are also planned for future release.

Automatic optical protection detects the loss of signal and switches traffic to a backup fiber in under 50 milliseconds, keeping database replication and inter-datacenter traffic running through the outage.
